Independent guidance for Bali & Indonesia • Always check current official requirements

Extend your Indonesia visa.

Learn the key checks for extending an Indonesia visa in Bali: extension eligibility depends on the visa you hold, official application steps and the right time to start.

Information checked against official immigration sources on 22 October 2026. Visa rules may change; verify again before you apply.

B1 e-VOAOne extension may be available

There is no single extension process for every visa.

Check the permit printed on your visa and the latest Immigration instructions. Do not assume that an extension is available simply because another category can be extended.

Check these details first

  1. Read your visa or stay-permit letter and identify its category.
  2. Confirm the expiry date and whether the category allows an extension.
  3. Check whether the application must be made by you, a sponsor or an authorised provider.
  4. Prepare the documents requested for your local Immigration process.

B1 and e-VOA extension

The official B1 guidance says the stay may be extended once, to a maximum total of 60 days. It says e-VOA holders may use the online Immigration portal; holders of a non-electronic VOA may need to apply through the Immigration office covering their place of stay. Follow the live instructions in the official account.

C1 and other visitor permits

C1 may be extendable within the maximum total stay stated by Immigration. A sponsor is part of the official C1 application process. Other visitor categories have different extension conditions, so use the current official visa-specific instructions rather than assuming the C1 or B1 process applies.

Start early and keep records

Immigration’s Ngurah Rai office advises starting a B1 extension before the permit expires and gives its own timing instructions for the local process. Check the latest guidance for the office and district relevant to your accommodation. Keep receipts, appointment details and copies of submitted documents.
